Events
Spring Point Ledge Light has the unique distinction of being the only caisson-style lighthouse accessible by land and open for public tours. On weekends during the summer months the Spring Point Ledge Light Trust holds open houses allowing the public to actually enter and explore the lighthouse. A small fee of $5.00 is charged to support the Trust's preservation efforts. Open House hours are 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Upcoming Events:
Opening Dates for Summer & Fall 2013
Beginning 22 June 2013 the lighthouse will be open to the public every Saturday and Sunday through September 1. Opening time for Sunday, 28 July is to be determined due to the Tri For The Cure event held on the adjacent campus of Southern Maine Community College.
The lighthouse will also be open 14 September for Maine Lighthouse Day. For that event only, admission to the lighthouse will be free and the tours will operate at a special time of 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. The regular opening on Sunday, 15 September will be charged the normal admission fee.
The final open house will be Columbus Day weekend, Saturday, 12 October

For Your Safety
Please note that for safety reasons children less than 51-inches in height are not permitted inside the lighthouse. Children may be measured at the ticket desk and/or the lighthouse entrance to ensure compliance.
Climbing of narrow stairs and through hatches is also required (see photo at right). Tennis shoes or hiking shoes are recommended. Please avoid sandals.
Information Hot Line
There are occasions when an event may be cancelled: snow or ice on the breakwater, fog that activates the fog signal, or high winds or surf. Visitors who have doubts about an event should call the Spring Point Ledge Light hotline at (207) 699-2676. Every attempt will be made to update the hotline by 8:00 AM the morning of the Open House event.
